1. when is an image a portrait when is it a fashion photograph?

it is a portrait when  pictures focus on the face and the people to made the dress or clothes  

it is a fashion photograph when focusing on the who body and the clothes they wear. 

2. To what degree should an image manipulated to go into a fashion magazine?

In the film the following manipulations occurs:

 the way the picture is taken and edited in to a magazine .

look bigger then the picture really is.

How about manipulations to the photos before they are taken, models, Makeup, sets clothes?

 the texture of the clothes and the design of the clothes they looked different when they had to use different desights of the cloths  on the models  . the colours were very bright and colourful.  I think it is not good when the picture is manipulated because when anyone sees the images in magazines or on the posters it make you want to have the clothes and makes you want to have that body on the images or makes you want to me famous for not doing anything and you will do anything  to achieve that goal and it does not make the image look reail like if you are skinny

 

 3. Is there a clash between the creative and commercial side of fashion Photography?

What clashes occur in the film between the creative and commercial

 the ideas of how the clothes will be made and how the image will look.
 

group shoot  was too much it was too over the top it could be toned down to be made realistic.

yes I agree  because she has more experience in the would of fashion her dad use to work for the same company and take her there from time to time and her chose are right and she picks the right texture  of the clothes to make it look really good and have the models look right and look good and really colourful and bright and stand out in the crowed and grase

Tony vaccaro 

Tony vaccaro is an american phographer who is more knowen for his work in Europe in  1944- 1945 for his war photography but before he took the picture in the was he took pictures celebratys during the war when he was a solder in world war 2 he took them in the trenches and part of his job involved alot of free time and he used that time to take pictues   . Tony Vaccaro was the ony photographer that liked to capture the image of the person behind the mask meaning when they least expected he wanted nautral real looking photos not fake faces he wants photos behind the mask that are highding the truth.

Tony Vaccaro would pretend that his camrea is broken in order to get the perfect picture at the right time when people have stoped pretending and have a real face on of how they would normely act when they are not expecting the camrea to take the picture and to show how they really feel with out having to pretend and with out them realizing then having been told in the end that they have had there photos taken .
